Horseman Shakes and the Draymen is a 5-piece from Bedfordshire and Cambridge in search for the hearth of pure rock and roll. Founded as an acoustic duo in 2007 by singer Alex Small and guitarist Rob Muir, the band now includes now drummer Dan Jack, bass player Olie Campbell and Dom Notarangelo with his rhythm guitar.
HSATD mix a traditional approach to rock music with a renovated energy in lyrics and mad solos by Rob’s magic hands. Since the first notes of Headstrong, it is clear that the musical heritage flowing in the veins of the band ranges from the first Led Zeppelin to the dusty Californian grunge of Stone Temple Pilots.
Rivalry could fill a stadium with its “anthemic” solemnity, while Diving With Sharks is a bar brawl between Tom Petty, ZZ Top and Pearl Jam.
The peculiarity of HSATD stands in the howling vigour of Alex’s voice and in the incredible bravura of Rob. His solos conquered the hearts of Barfly’s audience and earned a well-deserved ovation at the end of half an hour of pure energy
HSATD will play in London again on 20th November at Water Rats, Kings Cross.
