Napoleon Maddox and his group ISWHAT?! launches a new video to coincide with release of their new album ‘Big Appetite’
After causing a storm at last year’s London Jazz Festival Napoleon returned to the UK this month for a number of UK dates to support his ‘Big Appetite’ album launch.
Fierce jazz sounds, funky grooves and vocal gymnastics – hip hop poet Napoleon Maddox and his group ISWHAT?! span the worlds of jazz and hip hop, taking in everything from Thelonious Monk via Gil Scott-Heron to Outkast. The core of ISWHAT?!’s sound is based on Maddox’s rhythmic flow and sharp, incendiary horn lines. Expect provocative music boasting a broad spectrum of sonic colours and styles.
The new ISWHAT?! album Big Appetite is described by Napoleon as “more than a collection of delicious audio treats. It’s a diary, a chronicle of overconsumption, real cautionary tales about lust, desire, greed and hunger.”
To coincide with the release of Big Appetite, ISWHAT?! have released a sublime video for Trouble that can be seen below
Big Appetite is released next Monday October 25th.
