Nadirah X – ‘Here It Comes’ Single Unveiled

| On 18, Oct 2010

Critically acclaimed urban artist, Nadirah X follows the recent release of her debut album ‘INK’ with her new single ‘Here It Comes’ set for release on October 25th.  This powerful interpretation of Eurythmics iconic track Here Comes The Rain Again infuses urban beats of immense structure, with the prevailing rhythms of Nadirah X to produce something very special indeed.

Having recently performed on-stage with Dave Stewart and Erykah Badu at the Back2Black Festival and being a long-time supporter of the UK based charity, Stand Up To Cancer, Nadirah has never been so prominent. “Here It Comes is a song that explores the imbalance in society, and also expresses the frustrations with these imbalances”, explains Nadirah when asked about her new single.

Produced by Dave Stewart himself and his long-time programmer Ned Douglas, the track has all the support and care that has ever been necessary.  Here It Comes promises to push boundaries, provoke and most importantly be adored.

The Jamaican born artist fuses hip-hop, reggae, soul and incendiary spoken word. Her unique rap delivery and evolving style won her the Caribbean Music Expo, a competition of over 300 contestants. It was at the winning performance that she met rock legend Dave Stewart who immediately signed her to a management deal and began writing and producing music for her. Their musical partnership led to Nadirah joining him on his European tour along with the celebrated Jimmy Cliff and Mudbone, lead singer of Parliament and Funkadelic.

The album ‘INK’ was released to coincide with the publication of Nadirah’s first book of poetry which together have brought her a legion of fans from Mick Jagger who described her as “the real deal” to Harry Belafonte who said of her “What the 21st century is looking for is a 21st century voice, and nothing represents that voice, better than Nadirah X”.
