Twin Shadow Announce Debut Album | AAA Music
aaamusic | On 17, Oct 2010
Twin Shadow, the moniker of George Lewis Jr., releases his debut album Forget in the UK and Europe on November 15th through 4AD.
Already available in the US through Chris Taylor from Grizzly Bear’s label Terrible Records, Twin Shadow has been selected as Rough Trade Shop’s Album of the Month and will be available to buy exclusively from the London-based retailer as of Monday (October 18th) – a whole month ahead of its official European release date.
The Rough Trade exclusive will come with a unique and limited bonus 7-track disc of additional material featuring remixes by Twin Shadow of Bear In Heaven, Surfer Blood and Lemonade. Co-produced by Chris Taylor, Forget was pieced together by the Dominican Republic-born Lewis in his New York apartment. Recently crowned Best New Music by Pitchfork and with lead track ‘Slow’ given its radio debut by Radio One’s Zane Lowe, Forget is like a lost 80’s classic that wears its influences on its sleeve, recalling Pet Shop Boys and New Order.
To coincide with Forget’s status as Album of the Month, George Lewis Jr. will make his UK live debut at the end of October, performing as a four-piece at the following shows in London:
October
Tuesday 26th – White Heat @ Madame JoJos, London
Wednesday 27th – Rough Trade East, London (FREE IN-STORE)
Thursday 28th – Hoxton Bar & Kitchen, London (w/ Teengirl Fantasy)
