Mitchell Museum – Tiger Heartbeat

‘Tiger Heartbeat’ starts innocuously enough but builds into a little piece of joy guaranteed to bring a smile to your face. The wide reaching influences that Mitchell Museum cite are entirely evident here as it is almost impossible to compare this to anything yet at the same the sound is not at all left field. Despite the track’s slow building start, the listener’s patience is rewarded when the track enters into a chorus which can only be described as massive. It is far too easy to describe this as pop music just because it will have broad appeal; there is something really exciting at the heart of ‘Tiger Heartbeat’ that it is incredibly difficult to nail down. People tend to consider songs that are not enshrouded with angst as bland but Mitchell Museum prove this to be a fallacy; ‘Tiger Heartbeat’ may be an essentially happy track but that doesn’t mean that it lacks adventure or ambition. Definitely a band to watch.
