From one of the most seductive and stylish new bands of the year comes an absolutely irresistible slice of insidiously effective avant pop, in the form of The Hundred in the Hands’ new single “Commotion”, due out on Warp in November. The stunning new video for the track, directed by Daniels, will be premiered soon – check out some teaser shots from it below.

Already garnering plaudits from the likes of The Sun, Clash, The Fly, Q and others, the recently released debut album has already gone some way to establishing The Hundred in the Hands, aka Jason Friedman and Eleanore Everdell, as one of the most exciting acts to emerge in 2010. Now, with “Commotion”, they seem set to prove they are a pop band to reckon with as well – albeit a brilliantly seditious, darkly alluring one, as Everdell sings about a “cool, quiet provocateur” and a “hooligan, quite enticing”, to trace the fissures of a masochistic relationship gone septic, as Friedman’s guitars oscillate in the background over thrumming beats and keyboards.

Beginning in October, The Hundred in the Hands will also hit the road with labelmates and partners in sonic subversion !!! (chk chk chk) for a slew of dates across the UK, culminating in an unmissable show at Koko on November 4.
