6ix Toys have created the Expo anthem for Liverpool called No Drama – The Liverpool Anthem and are representing the City in Shanghai at the world’s largest Trade Expo.
Liverpool is the only UK city represented at the Expo which will overall be visited by 70 million people. Over 500,000 people have already visited The Liverpool Pavilion which features a video greeting from Sir Paul McCartney, football, maritime and a 3D film of a Chinese dragon and a Liver Bird flying over the North West and has caused huge interest.
No Drama – The Liverpool Anthem was created with the help of Sir Paul McCartney, who offered advice to the band as they put the track together. Sir Paul says, “It was an honour to work with 6ix Toys, a LIPA graduate band, to help create the Liverpool Anthem for the World Expo.”
Fred Ruddick from 6ix Toys adds that, “We’re incredibly proud to be representing Liverpool with ‘No Drama’ and on the global stage at the Shanghai Expo. And having had Sir Paul’s help too, it’s been a great experience – he very carefully went through the track and told us what he thought. It’s been an amazing journey for us all and such an honour helping to create what we feel is an anthem which really captures some of the city.”
The band will be performing the Anthem in Shanghai with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic on October 16th in the Expo Performance Centre at ‘A gala evening with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic and friends’ as the Expo reaches its conclusion at the end of the month. On the night, the band are also performing with The Scaffold and have been in rehearsals with Paul McCartney’s brother, Mike McGear, Roger McGough and John Gorman.
There’s lots of other exciting news happening with 6ix Toys. The band are currently in the studio recording new material as well as performing at a special one off show in Pacha in Spain, and are travelling to Havana, Cuba, to record with a very special guest for a project in October. 6ix Toys have also produced Off The Shelf, an all out party tune which will have dance floors rocking to for years to come. It’s a firm nod towards the boys’ new direction, which everyone will be hearing a lot over the coming months. Keep eyes and ears peeled!
There is a very limited edition signed CD being produced to celebrate the 6ix Toys Liverpool Anthem which will be available at the start of October to celebrate the EXPO and Liverpool’s involvement.
