Phosphorescent have announced a European tour with The National in November 2010. This follows on from the recent run of UK dates in September with Timber Timbre. Full details of all The National dates are below, including two nights at Brixton Academy.

In May, Phosphorescent performed next door to Other Music in Manhattan along with Sharon Van Etten and The Antlers as part of an impromptu concert series curated by The National that led up to the release of their new album ‘High Violet’. In an empty retail space that formerly housed Tower Records, Phosphorescent played a half hour set consisting of a sprawling, improvisational re-envisioning of ‘Los Angeles’ off of their new album ‘Here’s To Taking It Easy’. Unfortunately after the set in classic New York City fashion, both Matthew’s motorcycle and the band’s van were slapped with parking tickets, a dreadful end to an otherwise fun event. In light of the support tour news for The National, karma always finds a way of working it’s magic and rewarding those who wait.
