The Crookes – Dreams of another day EP

‘Backstreet Lovers’, the opener of the ‘Dreams of Another Day EP’ from ‘The Crookes’, was lovely and created the image of The Smiths without so much melancholy, leaving behind the soft romantic lyrics and indie pop instrumental.
‘Somewhere Over the Bus Stop’, continues with the soft romantic indie pop sound, but the tempo started to pick up into a more bouncy fun sound with ‘ Yes, Yes, We Are Magicians’, which I was going to dance about to, but was confined to the computer via headphones.
‘More Blitz Than Ritz’ and the ‘Born Under a Bad Sign’ cover are the soundtrack for the heartbroken love torn romantic indie kids. Both tracks show the bands ability to convey a range of emotions via there music.
The final track on the EP is ‘Mrs Porter’ is lovely closing track, and had an essence of The Kinks lingering among it. A nice 8-track EP showcasing The Crookes talent.
