Captain, the new single from Empress is out on November 1st. A
killer combination of natural pop nous and cool sassiness, it offers
up an exciting mix of sexy electronica, heartfelt pop and dark dance
hooks that have all the hallmarks of becoming a classic club hit.

Formed in 2009, Empress are made up of Janee (vocals), Charlie
Westropp (guitar), Ben Athey (drums), Owen Taylor (guitar) and John
Stevens (bass). These lot have so far worked with the likes of Rob
Davis (co-writer of Kylie’s ‘Can’t Get You Out of My Head), Roll Deep,
Wiley, Rude Nation and Dionne Bromfield. They have even had the
pleasure of recording at the famous Olympic Studios where the likes of
The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin recorded.

Described by The Guardian as having a reputation for stage presence,
charisma and tight playing that produces epic live performances.
Empress do not disappoint. They are incredibly talented, seriously
addictive and quite frankly, rather gorgeous.

Captain is guaranteed to be etched in to your minds this season,
with playful memories, memorable hooks and a catchy chorus which is
guaranteed to be on repeat until the New Year.
