“Japandroids mix-up that blurry, punked post-Lync sound on “Heavenward Grand Prix,” a mid-tempo track that might remind you of slightly older (to say, younger) Thermals in its half-spoken vocal approach. Or, if you want to go older older, the post-Honor Role Richmond-based Coral. Whatever your departure point, nice to hear them coming up for a breath.” – STEREOGUM

“Younger Us” is a welcome indication that this band has more to offer than the angular, fuzzed-out frenzy that we already know they do so well.” – PITCHFORK

“Listening to a couple of young dudes wax nostalgic way too soon about their even-younger selves is usually obnoxious but this ferocious, garage rock duo out of Vancouver has so much fun reminiscing between fist-pumping drums and dirty guitar that they’ll make you fondly remember all the way back to a couple of months ago too” – 3.5/5 Stars, ROLLING STONE.COM

“Sneering, fuzzy garage romp.” – SPIN

Polyvinyl is pleased to announce the release of ‘Heavenward Grand Prix’, the third single inJapandroids 7″ series. This will be available 15th November in the UK, pre-order it here. The third single includes the A-side title track ‘Heavenward Grand Prix’, along with a B-side cover of PJ Harvey’s ‘Shame’ and will be limited to 2000 copies.

As previously reported, the entire series will yield five singles, each limited edition on clear vinyl and for sale in digital format. Each single will include an A-side featuring previously unreleased material from the ‘Post-Nothing’ sessions, and a cover B-side. Japandroids devised the 7″ series as a way to give something back to their fans while the band is in the midst of heavy touring and unable to record a full album. Each two-song 7″ will be recorded at the Hive in Vancouver, BC (where ‘Post-Nothing’ was recorded) during the brief periods of time the band is at home between tours. The previous two 7″s have sold very quickly.

Japandroids are currently on another extensive tour throughout North America with The Walkmen.
