Bombay Bicycle Club – Rinse Me Down

Rinse Me Down, the second single from Bombay Bicycle Club’s sophomore album Flaws is indeed a far cry from the electric guitar fuelled sound of their debut, but that shouldn’t be viewed as a bad thing. On the contrary, perhaps the band should be praised for showing such innovative on their second album rather than falling into the comfortable trap of replicating the exact same music that scored them their popularity the first time round. If fans give Rinse Me Down a chance, they’ll find an acoustic track without the generic bits left in. Vocalist Jack Steadman maintains a steady rhythm throughout, helped in no small way by his bandmates’ solid backing, culminating in a track that, while not mind-blowing, holds its own in comparison to the more obviously energised tracks of I Had The Blues But I Shook Them Loose, creating a gentle liveliness all of its own.
