Following on from Record Collection’s 80s synth pop driven lead single ‘Bang Bang Bang’ comes Mark Ronson’s second effort ‘The Bike Song’ – a collaboration with The View’s Kyle Falconer and Spank Rock, and co-written by The Zutons’s Dave McCabe. An infectious blast of lo-fi pop, ‘The Bike Song’ really channels that slightly cheesy 1980s soft rap and hip-hop. After one listen the sizzling melody permanently sticks and the cheese is almost balanced out by the chic production, vocals and retro instrumentation. Having said that, I still can’t decide whether I want to stick this on repeat and turn up really loud, or just switch it off and walk away.
