‘Drown Your Heart Again’ is the new album from The Strange Death of Liberal England. It is a montage of seaside indie pop, displaying and expressing a range of emotions from a range of happiness, acceptance and new beginnings.
The opening track Flickering Light set the mood for the entire album, mainly with its awesome guitar riffs and catchy element, which was prominent with all the tracks throughout the album. My recently departed summer memories were recreated by the sound of Rising Sea; the third track on the album. It was simple wonderful and made me not only nostalgic but also sway from side to side.
The next track – Curtain Falling – was lively and vibrant, earning it the place of my favorite track on the album, as I could help but love it. The sixth track on the album Autumn was the melody of the seaside indie sunset, a simply beautiful track, however it didn’t stay in my limelight for long. The eighth track on the album, Yellow Flowers, took my breath away, with its strong elements of beauty and tranquility, making it the heart of the album and the perfect soundtrack to any seaside romance. The final track Dog Barking at the Moon, was the perfect ending track. Although, the ocean sound clip (3:40 – 7:15) did confuse me and I didn’t really see the point of it. Other than that a truly terrific album.
