Your Four Limbs, the latest single from Kurran and The Wolfnotes, is definitely a catchy tune. So catchy that I memorized part of the lyrics when they opened for The Kissaway Trail at The Hoxton Bar and Grill early this year. And that was the first time encounter with them.

The refrain haunted my thoughts for months until it suddenly manifested itself through the radiowaves. I confess, I’m addicted to it. I love everything about this track: Kurran’s sweet and sour voice, the gentle harmonies of the acoustic guitar which recall memories of my beloved Johnny Cash, the steady drums and bass which ensure the track is not stuck in the past and add a modern flavour and the school music hour with the xylophone.

Despite coming from the overwhelming folk scene which now saturated with sound alike artists, Kurran and The Wolfnotes are one to watch for this year. They may not go far but they’ll be treasured by those who’ll find them as they are now – pure and beautiful.
