Karoshi ‘Not Sitting’ remix

| On 06, Sep 2010

Not Sitting is the exciting debut release by Karoshi coming out on Suitcase September 6th. It’s a story of loving then losing your musical heroes and doing things on your own terms. It’s about independence and the fight to do something fresh.
Karoshi is a Japanese term meaning death from overwork. It reflects their love and hate of the 21st century world in equal measure.

Brothers Dan Burt & Sam Burt make twisted electronic pop and seek out the freshest underground vocal talent. They then hook in the best remixers around to put dancefloor spins on their pop tunes. They combine the production chops of Justice and Simian Mobile Disco with the songwriting and pop sensibilities of Santogold, Goldfrapp and Hot Chip.

The single features some stellar and varied remixes. Cassette Jam pull out a nu-disco/electro peak time slammer. Per QX nails it with a minimal tech house beast. Mr Fogg gives a sublime dub heavy electronica interpretation. Spector lends his dark skills on a distorted electro house rework and Pete Da Feet keeps the sunrise glowing with a classic vocal deep house mix.

Next up is a video in which they construct their very own Karoshi’s Monster, who goes on to have his own superstar escapades. This comes fresh from the fractured mind of Nick Light, creator of Dan Le Sac and Scroobius Pip’s latest viral video.

Karoshi have also being busy on other duties during Spring 2010…a remix for Mr Fogg, currently getting Radio 6 and 2 and got top 10 in club chart, a remix for PerQx out on DJs Are Not Rockstars in June, co-writing with Punks Jump Up (Kitsune) for their debut album and are also currently knee deep on a Maximo Park remix.
