Tonight I’m at the Dublin Castle in London’s Camden Town to check out Orphan Boy from Manchester, who just released their second album ‘Passion Pain & Loyalty’. Orphan Boy – Rob Cross, Paul Smith and Chris Day – take to the stage as the crowd cheers eager to hear the sonic delights of this manchester band.
‘Passion Pain & Loyalty’ is a bit a departure from the bands debut ‘Shop Local’, which makes for a great live show and brings more variety to their sound with the edgy post punk sound of ‘Shop Local’ and the more melodic soundscapes of ‘Passion Pain & Loyalty’ . The band play good mix of the two albums including latest single ‘Popsong’ which was my highlight of the night.
The band have a great sound and put on a brilliant live show and deserve to be playing much bigger venues than the dublin castle. Catch them while you can in these small venues because mega stardom is just around the corner!
