London, 28th July

Starting the night with a bang (quite literally) Ok Go start the night with an explosion of confetti and head straight into set opener ‘invincible’ and this sets the tone for the night as there are plenty more surprises in-store for the audience.

Ok Go who are probably more known for their quirky videos and millions of YouTube hits than their live shows put on a impressive performance tonight. The first part of their set is made up of mix of older songs and tracks from their new album ‘Of The Blue Colour Of The Sky’ which the audience seem to enjoying a lot, dancing a sining away to most of the tracks so far. They finish this part of the set up with some of their more well known songs such as the song which really took them to the big time a few years back ‘Here It Goes Again’ and one right back from their debut album ‘Get Over It’. These two songs in particular get an amazing response from the audience.

After these highlights the band decide to quiet everyone down and do something a little unexpected. The stage is cleared and a large table with a array from brass handbells is put in the centre of the stage, the band all put on a pair of white gloves and they play though a version of track ‘What To Do‘ with no other instruments other than the brass bells.

Next in the unexpected things of the night, lead singer Damin Kulash jumps down from the stage with mic stand and guitar in hand he works his way through to the centre of the crowd. He plays ‘Last Leaf’ a slow acoustic ballad performed brilliantly and gives the audience a nice little rest before the big sing alongs to come in the last part of the set.

They finished the last part of the set with ‘Don’t Ask Me’ and ‘End Love’ before the band play an extended version of ‘This Too Shall Pass’ with some of the loudest crowd singalongs i’ve heard in a long time.

Then they come out for their encore complete with lazers attached to their guitars, ‘OK GO‘ in big bright lights and another blast of confetti the band end a very enjoyable night with an impressive showmanship.
