Despite their name sounding like a Mexican troubadour Hermanos Inglesos actually means English brothers in Spanish. Cedric and Didier Engels both discovered their love of music at a very young age and their brilliant and inspiring dance tracks have impressed not only the bloggersphere but also the rest of europe and now it’s the UK’s turn to get their hit of cool Belgian techno.
The Belgian Engels brothers have impressed everyone from Radio 1 to Erol Alkan to Kissy Sell Out and Tiga who have all championed early demos. Last year also saw Hermanos Inglesos win the Diesel U Music award for best new comer.
Their debut album, due out early Autumn, is a complex mix of growling keyboards, shattering synths and astonishing drum beats. The debut single ‘Wanderland’ is a summer treat. Guest vocalist, newcomer MeMe lends her extraordinary vocal talents to the track, a minimal house classic steeped in sunny lyrics and a completely danceable bassline.
The dynamic duo have also lent their remixing talents to Digitalism, Soldout and Merden Taplak. They are due to play a tour later this year so keep your ears to the ground for dates!
