The Legendary Sir Tom Jones celebrates his 70th birthday on Monday (7th June) and marks the event with the release of the download and limited 7″ split single featuring versions of Dylan’s ‘What Good Am I’ and John Lee Hooker’s ‘Burning Hell’ on Island Records.
The singles can be listen to from the officla site: www.tomjones.com
Taken from the forthcoming album ‘Praise and Blame’ – released on 26th July, a remarkable collection of songs that has witnessed critics reaching for superlatives and recently lauded on BBC2’s Later and Lauren Laverne’s 6Music show, Tom has returned to his roots in creating a truly evocative musical work, aided and abetted by producer / musician Ethan Johns (kings Of Leon, Laura Marling).
Tom says of ‘Praise and Blame’: “It’s food for thought, it’s real, it’s natural, and in that sense it’s truly me.”
